The Bronze plan is available for a minimal premium cost to cover you or your entire family. The basic benefits (covered services) are the same with the Gold and Bronze plans. Wellness benefits are available at no charge. Please see the Preventive Health Benefit and Immunization Coverage policies at www.arbenefits.org to review all the wellness benefits.
A plan design change in 2014 allows for medical copayments, coinsurance and deductible amounts to count towards the True Out-Of-Pocket (TROOP) maximum.
If you do not wish to make changes to your plan, no action is required. However,
if you want to change plans, or change your policy information, you must complete
an "Election Form" and return the form to EBD, or complete online enrollment
on their website.
With the Bronze Plan members may enroll in a Health Savings Account (HSA) through Datapath Administrators. Unlike a cafeteria plan, the money you put in the HSA does not have the "use it or lose it" rule. The money is there until you need it, whether that is this year, next year or 20 years from now. Sign up now, and apply a portion of the premium toward any deductible amount that you might need for this plan year.
Note: If you currently participate in a Flexible Spending Account (cafeteria plan) you cannot sign up for an HSA until your cafeteria plan year ends. The federal government will not allow you to have both. Any money available in the Flexible Spending Account may be used to offset the deductible on the Bronze Plan. You may enroll or disenroll in a HSA anytime during the year.
