We are excited to announce effective October 1st 2022, United Concordia's network that supports the Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP), and also provides access for members of their commercial business, is expanding to provide increased access to care through our Arkansas Blue Cross PPP network.
Maternal mortality rates are rising in the U.S.¹ Poor oral health increases a pregnant woman's risk of high blood pressure, a precursor to preeclampsia, which can lead to major complications, even death. Fortunately, with proactive, preventive
medical and dental care, the risk of maternal mortality decreases.
There has been no change to the indications for pre-meds. However, due to the large number of C. diff. cases from Clindamycin, penicillin allergic patients are now to be prescribed a Z-Pak, clarithromycin or doxycycline. Keflex may still be considered
if there is no cross-allergenicity.
Please join us for a virtual medical-dental integration symposium on Friday morning, Sept. 17, 2021. The event will include presentations from a cross section of medical and dental professionals who’ll discuss the components and benefits of
medical-dental integration — an approach that coordinates dental and primary medical care to improve overall patient systemic health.

We'll provide you with additional details about speakers and specific topics as that information becomes available.
